Super Page
Founder Story

Super Page was built founder-side as a mobile-optimised link-in-bio platform — grown to 5,000+ creators organically and acquired by AppX (Y Combinator '21) in under 18 months.

Origin & Opportunity

Super Page was born from a personal frustration. In 2020, Instagram's single-link limitation was limiting creators who wanted to share multiple destinations — their store, newsletter, latest video, and social profiles — from a single bio.

Linktree existed, but felt generic and didn't let creators express their brand. We saw an opportunity to build a more designed, customisable, and creator-first alternative — and to build it the way a designer thought it should work.

Super Page felt like it was made by someone who actually understood what it means to be a creator.

— Super Page early user, creator survey

Every hat was worn in-house: product strategy, UX research, visual design, brand identity, and marketing assets. Engineering was handled by a single developer brought in for the build — all direction, scope, and QA came from the design side.

The product grew entirely through word of mouth and creator communities. No paid acquisition, no growth hacking — just a product people genuinely wanted to share.

What We Built

Product Design

Full UX/UI for the creator dashboard and public-facing page — mobile-first, fast-loading, and heavily customisable by design.

Brand Identity

Logo, colour system, typography, and marketing visual language — built to feel premium without alienating indie creators who were the core early users.

Marketing Assets

All social media assets, product screenshots, and landing page design — designed to drive sign-ups through creator community channels organically.

User Research

Ran surveys and A/B tests continuously across the user base, using results to prioritise the feature roadmap and sharpen the product's value proposition.

0→1 Launch

Took the product from concept to live — managing dev sprints, scoping features, and maintaining design quality throughout a fast-moving early-stage environment.

Acquisition

Negotiated and executed the acquisition by AppX (YC S21) — a validation of both the product and the creator community built organically.

Key Lessons

01

Design is distribution

Super Page grew because creators wanted to show it off. The public-facing page was the marketing. Every design decision on the creator's page was also a decision about virality — how shareable, how beautiful, how "I made this with Super Page" did it feel.

02

Founders need to feel the product

Building as a designer-founder meant using Super Page daily and feeling every friction point firsthand. That tight feedback loop — noticing something wrong, fixing it that week, feeling the improvement — is something we try to recreate on every client engagement.

03

Acquisition is a design outcome

AppX acquired Super Page because of what the product represented — a community, a design philosophy, and a creator-first point of view that aligned with where they were taking their platform. Good design built the thing that was worth buying.

04

Small teams ship better products

One designer, one developer, and direct access to users cut through every process bottleneck that slows down bigger teams. That bias toward small, empowered squads has shaped how we've worked ever since.

Multi-tenant Payments System
For Superpage, we designed a payment system that accepts money through one checkout, preserves vendor ownership, applies platform fees, selects a gateway route, and keeps settlements traceable from end to end.
